ASPCA’s pet insurance, administered by C&F Insurance Agency, has a strong foundation dating back to 1997. The insurance policies are underwritten by the United States Fire Insurance Company, known for its impressive A.M. Best rating of A (Excellent) in terms of financial strength and claims-paying capabilities.
ASPCA Pet Insurance offers a variety of plans to meet different needs, including options for accident and illness coverage or accident-only coverage.
Their flagship plan, Complete Coverage®, provides annual benefit caps ranging from $5,000 to unlimited. Notably, there are no caps on individual conditions or specific restrictions for eligible congenital and hereditary conditions.
ASPCA also offers additional coverage options for Accident-Only and Preventative Care, available at an extra cost.
Like most pet insurers, ASPCA’s plans do not cover pre-existing conditions that occur or show symptoms before the policy’s effective date or during the waiting period.
However, there’s a bright side. If your pet remains symptom-free, without treatment and fully cured for 180 days, the condition will no longer be considered pre-existing, except for knee and ligament conditions. Unfortunately, if a knee or ligament condition arises before coverage begins or during the waiting period, any future claims related to such conditions will not be covered.
