Insuranceopedia Explains Surgical Insurance Benefits

It is not unusual that medical or health care plans are inadequate to cover all the expenses incurred during periods of prolonged hospitalization as in a surgical operation. Supplementing lack of coverage, additional surgical insurance benefits are available as part of a surgical or hospital insurance plan that may be purchased as additional protection for specific medical conditions that would require surgical operation and a prolonged hospital stay.
